HELLO, AND WELCOME TO THE LUNIVERSE!

We’re Lunor, the glasses manufacturer from the Black Forest.

We won’t bore you with the details (and there are plenty of them), but suffice it to say that the development process all of our glasses go through is meticulous and exacting. It usually starts with a stroke of inspiration or a good idea our boss Michael has. This is turned into a sketch, which is then turned into the final design. The real excitement comes when the first prototypes arrive months later. And you can rest assured that most of us have tried on each new model in the development process. It usually goes like this: Michael appears out of nowhere and says, “Can you try these on for me please?” And before you know it, you’re wearing a pair of glasses and your boss is looking at you with a skeptical eye.

The nice thing about working at a family business is that everybody is really passionate about their job. That may sound corny, but it’s true. We love our glasses, and most of us even have several Lunor models in our own private collections. That’s one thing we have in common with many of our customers.

Every employee gets to try out Michael’s new developments, but we also all have our own areas of expertise, enabling us to meet—and indeed surpass—our high standards of quality. This is only possible when experts are involved every step of the way. With years of experience mastering the craft, our new designs are developed in our own production facility in the northern part of the Black Forest. All of our glasses are made using exclusive materials like gold, pure titanium or choice shades of acetate. This is our idea of true workmanship. It takes many years and a plethora of experience before an initial idea becomes a finished pair of glasses worthy of the Lunor name.

WHO’S BLOGGING

HI, I’M ANNIKA!

I actually have the best job here at Lunor. Yes, I get to try on new models every now and then, but my actual work involves showing everybody out there in the real world what we do. That could be glasses-wearers, editors, optometrists or even you, in this very moment. Through our blog and social media profiles, I guide the world through the Luniverse. By now, my colleagues know that I always have my ear to the ground, on the lookout for the next story to tell on our blog. I love telling these stories, and the best ones are those that take place right here at Lunor.
